| A few years ago, at a Missions Conference at our church in Knoxville, TN, we were introduced to the 'Storying Scarf' - a unique idea by a missionary serving people who had no written language, whose culture included wearing scarves and who appreciated storytelling. I liked the idea and soon taught a Storying Scarf class for children. Since music is a good memory device, I wrote verses using familiar tunes to go with the 21 pictures on the Storying Scarf. Of those original 21 songs, there were 7 that really 'got into my head' and wouldn't go away. Since The Creation Song teaches what happened on each of the days of creation, The 10 Commandments Song teaches all Ten Commandments and The Song That Never Ends teaches the gospel of Jesus, they are very educational (and, they're fun). Most adults know the tunes, so they usually enjoy them, too. With a Little Help from our Friends: To actually record the music CD, we found the one who taught me to play guitar in 1965. She's Judy Rodman, now a successful voice coach in Nashville, TN. In 2 days, she made the 7 HIStory Songs CD happen and we caught up on 45 years! For 7 new pictures to go with the songs, we asked a very creative young artist, Matthew Flores, age 9, if he would draw them for us. He did! And, from then on, things have flowed like a river.
